Southport, NC

Yesterday my family went to Southport for my little sister's birthday. Sarah turned 13; officially a teenager! Sarah is one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet. She could read a book for hours and blows us away with how many she'll read in one week... or even just a few days! She also loves to write and does an amazing job. She's wise beyond her years, with a compassionate, servant's heart that loves others and loves to give. I'm so proud of who she is and who she is becoming.

This was the first time in three years that the entire family was even in the country for her birthday! It was so good for my family to spend a relaxing, fun day together. We had beautiful weather with a bright blue sky, a rainbow around the sun, and cool breezes. We took the ferry to Southport and then had a picnic under a lovely shade tree. Afterwards we walked around town for a while, admiring the cute houses and charm of the town. I'm so thankful to call this place home!
