Paris - Part 1

Oooh, Paris! It's such a gorgeous city! I quickly fell in love with it. It's exactly how you would expect it. We arrived in the afternoon by train from London. Our hotel was very convenient, in the heart of the city. We were within walking distance of several famous landmarks. The hotel itself was wonderful! After seeing so many flower boxes in London and Paris, I was happy we had one of our own. Breakfast there was amazing. French pastries are out of this world; especially the ones with chocolate ;). I need to go back just for a croissant...or two, or three.

The pictures I got from the day we arrived are some of my favorites. The way the sunlight hit the city that afternoon was gorgeous. According to the forecast, it would be our only sunny day, so we dressed up for a few pictures. We ventured forth from our hotel, ready to explore the city, and in our excitement completely forgot a map! Driving up to our hotel we had seen the top of the Eiffel Tower, so we figured it couldn't be far. Without knowing where we were, we followed the Eiffel Tower, exploring the streets until we finally found it. Big Ben and Stonehenge were both landmarks I had looked forward to seeing, but I didn't find them to be that much more incredible than pictures I had already seen. I was thrilled when I saw the Eiffel Tower, though. It's huge! It's especially gorgeous at night, lit up and sparkling. On one of our nights there my mom and I went out one evening to watch the tower light up. A few minutes every hour, on the hour, the tower starts dazzling. It had been a rainy day and our cozy hotel room sounded much more appealing than venturing out into cold and wet. It was definitely worth it though; it was gorgeous! The walk back to the hotel was just as beautiful, everywhere we turned we'd see more of the city in a sparkling golden glow.
